Carlie Bouslaugh first developed a love for plaintiff’s personal injury work while working for an accident reconstruction firm that provided experts in products liability cases. Carlie’s passion for advocating for those who have suffered serious injuries has led her to become a personal injury attorney. In 2012 she joined Gomez Trial Attorneys as a law clerk, and became a trial attorney after passing the bar exam in 2014. Carlie has variety of experience with personal injury cases including litigating motor vehicle accidents, products liability cases, and traumatic brain injury cases. Recently, Carlie acted as second chair to John Gomez on a jury trial which resulted in a verdict in excess of $1 Million.
Carlie is now heavily involved in the Firm’s “Children’s Rights” division where she fights for the rights of children in schools and other “supervised” environments. In this role, Carlie vigorously litigates cases involving sexual abuse, bullying, and harm done to children.
Carlie graduated Cum Laude from San Francisco State University in 2010. She received the Academic Achievement award for graduating in the top 5% of her major. During her time at California Western School of Law, Carlie was recognized as a Distinguished Advocate and was an active competitor on the Moot Court team. She also received the academic achievement award in Contracts and was a member of the Dean’s Honor Roll. Throughout school, she remained committed to public service by volunteering with the Community Law Project providing legal information to low income and indigent members of the San Diego community.
In addition to her role as a trial attorney, Carlie is currently the regional co-chair of the New Lawyer’s Division of the Consumer Attorneys of California. As co-chair, Carlie is responsible for coordinating monthly Breakfast Club meetings at Gomez Trial Attorneys. The Breakfast Club creates a community where new lawyers have the opportunity to learn from some of the most distinguished members of the San Diego legal community. Join the Breakfast Club at 7:30 a.m. on the last Thursday of each month at the Gomez kitchen table.
In her free time Carlie enjoys spending time with family and taking dance classes at local studios. From the age of 3 she began studying classical ballet and has performed in countless productions including Swan Lake, Giselle and Cinderella.
