The Gomez Law Firm has extensive experience representing victims of E. Coli bacterial infections. If you or your child have been diagnosed with an E. Coli. infection due to the recent USDA Beef Recall, contact The Gomez Law Firm for a free consultation. The law in California allows for those that have been harmed due to the negligence on the part of others to collect damages for medical expenses and pain and suffering. As of June 6, 2007, U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced that the United Food Group, LLC will be expanding its June 3 recall of ground beef products because they may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7. A link between the illnesses in several states and the ground beef subject led to the expanded recall which now comprises approximately 5.7 million pounds of beef. The expanded recall would include products with sell-by dates from April 6-April 20. The ground beef products were shipped to retail distribution centers in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. Affected grocery stores include Albertson's, Basha's, Grocery Outlet, Fry's, "R" Ranch Markets, Save-A-Lot, Save-Mart, Scolari's Wholesale Markets, Smart and Final, Smith's, Stater Bros., and Superior Warehouse. The recalled products were sold under the brand names Moran's All Natural, Miller Meat Company, Stater Bros., Trader Joes Butcher Shop, Inter-American Products, Inc., and Basha's

E. coli O157:H7 is a potentially deadly bacterium that can cause bloody diarrhea and dehydration. The very young, seniors and persons with compromised immune systems are the most susceptible to foodborne illness
