Mark Skeels has 21 years of trial experience serving the community in his role as a Senior Chief Deputy City Attorney for the city of San Diego and Deputy District Attorney for the county of San Diego. Mark served as Chief of the Special Prosecutions Unit where he reviewed all cases involving fatal traffic collisions and successfully prosecuted offenders for vehicular manslaughter. As a Deputy District Attorney, Mark specialized in cases involving sexual assault and child molestation while assigned to the Sex Crimes Unit. Mark also tried civil cases for offenders classified as Sexually Violent Predators.
Prior to joining the San Diego City Attorney’s Office, Mark served as General Counsel for a professional baseball team, drawing on his experience as a former professional baseball player with the Florida Marlins.
Mark joined his alma mater as an adjunct professor at the University of San Diego School of Law where he taught trial advocacy to students with the nationally recognized mock trial team.
