Since joining Gomez Trial Attorneys, Mr. Halpern has worked to successfully help recover tens of millions of dollars for his clients in trials and settlements against those responsible.  

From 2019 -2020, Mr. Halpern and Allison Worden have recovered over 25 million dollars in cases representing people critically injured, where loved ones lost their lives, and numerous victims of sexual assault and abuse.  

Some results include:

  • $3,375,000 settlement for a 79-year-old woman who was injured on a business premises in Chula Vista, CA.  
  • $2,700,000 settlement from a corporation that allowed a dangerous customer on their property to harm another customer.
  • In 2020, Mr. Halpern and Allison Worden recovered over $10,000,000 for car accident victims, slip and fall victims, burn victims, and other harms suffered due to the negligence of others.  
  • From 2018-2020, Mr. Halpern and Allison Worden have recovered over $8,000,000 in settlements for children and adults who were victims of physical and sexual abuse.  

Alongside Partner Allison Worden, Mr. Halpern litigates in the Sexual Abuse and Assault practice at Gomez Trial Attorneys.  Mr. Halpern has extensive experience in cases representing child and adult survivors of physical and sexual abuse at a church, daycare, business property, school or other “supervised” environment.  Mr. Halpern is currently representing victims of childhood sexual abuse and trauma through California’s new law allowing new cases to be filed against institutions such as schools, churches and other youth-serving organizations

Mr. Halpern received his law degree from the University of San Diego, cum laude, and his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from UC San Diego.  As a law student, Mr. Halpern wrote for the San Diego Law Review and worked as a Research Assistant for Author and Professor of Law Orly Lobel.  During law school, Mr. Halpern clerked for the California Attorney General and Oceanside City Attorney.  

Fluent in Spanish, Mr. Halpern works with many of the firm’s Spanish-speaking clients.  Mr. Halpern studied Spanish through the University of California Education Abroad Program in Cordoba, Spain and lived in Madrid for two years working in the Auxiliar de Conversación program through Spain’s Ministry of Education.   

Mr. Halpern is a member of the Consumer Attorneys of California and Consumer Attorneys of San Diego.  Outside of his law practice, Mr. Halpern enjoys going to the beach, film, literature, and playing basketball.
