About the Fatal Pedestrian Accident

According to the report, the accident occurred shortly after 6 a.m. on Thursday morning. An unidentified 59-year-old woman and a 64-year-old man were crossing the street at the intersection of Mira Mesa Boulevard and Marbury Avenue. At that point, a 26-year-old male was driving a Honda in an eastbound direction on Mira Mesa Boulevard.
According to statements from witnesses, the driver allegedly ran through a red light at the intersection. The Honda collided violently with the pedestrians. The woman was killed at the scene and the male suffered what were described as serious head injuries as well as a broken femur. Police arrived and questioned the driver. No word was given as to what the police determined to be the cause of the accident.

The intersection where this crash occurred is not on it. According to available data, a total of three pedestrian accidents took place on Mira Mesa Boulevard in 2015.
Of course, that doesn’t mean that this and other intersections nearby are not dangerous.
