27-year-old Elisa Osuna of Chula Vista was killed early Saturday when she lost control of her sports utility vehicle, rolled over and crashed through a fence, hitting a building, while driving on State Route 94, according to CHP.
Osuna was the sole occupant of the 2004 Ford Explorer, which was traveling east at approximately 3:20 a.m. She was traveling at an unknown speed when she lost control of her vehicle and traveled down an embankment onto the Bancroft offramp of SR-94.
The SUV traveled through an intersection, crashed through a chain link fence and hit a building, coming to a stop on its roof. Osuna was trapped inside. Despite being restrained with a seatbelt, she sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. CHP do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
