A rollover crash involving one vehicle required one adult and one child to be airlifted to a hospital. On Saturday April 27, 2013 on the I-8 out near the Jacumba area, the CHP reported that the tire on an F-350 blew out, causing the truck to flip over. The child in the passenger seat was ejected out of the car and onto the highway, while the driver was unable to escape from the truck. The fire response team was able to remove the adult from the overturned vehicle.
Cal Fire Battalion Chief Nick Schuler reported that the child and adult, whose names were not yet released, were airlifted separately to Children’s Hospital and UC San Diego. The condition of both individuals remains unknown.
